Faye Cornhill

Faye Cornhill is a Business Coach and the founder of The Wedding Business Club, a membership that supports creative entrepreneurs in the wedding industry. She started her entrepreneurial journey when she transitioned from corporate life to becoming a wedding photographer. With no actual prior experience, people told her she was crazy. But Faye is as stubborn as she is chilled out and serene (ie very) and it wasn’t long before not only was her photography business an international success but that other photographers and wedding business owners were coming to her for advice & coaching.

When we first met, she told me that she didn’t want to write a book. And then promptly confessed about two hours later that wasn’t true. (It’s always the way).  When we started to talk about it, I was frankly stunned that a book helping people who ran businesses attached to the wedding industry didn’t already exist. It seemed like an absolute no-brainer to me that Faye needed to remedy that quick sharp.

Which isn’t exactly what happened. Faye did what a lot of people do. Made some really logical rationalisations about why now wasn’t the right time to start. (She was about to rebrand. Her new website was being done. She had a programme to launch. Blah blah blah.).

Anyway. Then Faye did what a lot of people DON’T do. She committed. She signed up to work with me and She. Did. The. Work. Quietly and without any fuss she got on with it. She signed up for an extra assignment and spend a whole day with me (She really is my Gold Star Student).

The result was ‘I Do’ published in November 2020. There are two ways you can look at that. Publishing a book about the wedding industry in the middle of the pandemic when the industry was on its knees could have been seen as an absolute shitshow. But not for Faye. She used it as an opportunity to rally her industry and provide them with a shining light to guide them, and a sorely needed sense of community.

Suffice to say, it paid off (of course it did). Over a year later it is still selling strong, bringing in not only a healthy royalty cheque, but most importantly, consistently delivering new members into her Wedding Business Club.

'Writing my book has been a pivotal part of my business growth over the last 2 years. My book release preceded my biggest ever launch and ignited more publicity around me and my business than I had ever experienced. It created a new inlet into my evergreen funnel which brings new people into my membership every day.

It's been an incredibly empowering and rewarding experience and the book continues to serve. It's not like spending hours creating video footage for your social media that nobody watches in 3 months time, a book is real estate - people come back time and time again.

Also, I never ever wrote the book for profit, I always assumed that writing and self publishing a book would only ever be something that would cost me money. But actually I receive a healthy royalty cheque every quarter. In fact, I've made back my investment of not only working with Jessica but also self publishing.

The truth is that I loved the idea of writing a book. And I was excited by the opportunity it presented for my business. But I was never really sure whether I could do it. As soon as Jessica had called me out on my excuses and I'd spent some time with her I had absolute clarity for the book. After that it was literally plain sailing to the finish line.'
